Gold farmers in China?!

Obviously I’m referring to video game gold farmers… people who sell gold for games like WoW, UO, FFXI, EVE, and various others, online for real dollars.  I looked into to the prospect of doing this once, fund the playing of the game by selling gold from the game.  But the problem is there isn’t a whole lot of money in it for the time spent playing the game.  What I never considered, is that people in China already work for what we would consider to be very low amounts.  So it makes sense that they are the leader in Gold Farming.

Now the real work can begin.

This past month has been hard.

Sometimes things happen in life… either by accident or by design… and we must grow in some way to accommodate these events.  Some things are lost and others are gained… and we reorganize our life to fit the new circumstances, and then we just continue.  Sometimes we never realized how much we needed these things to happen to us… and perhaps if it hadn’t gone like it did, we never would have discovered who are or what we are capable of.

I am definitely not one who embraces chaos. However, when it happens I thrive on it. I fight it at first, but slowly, I become one with it, until, it isn’t chaos anymore.  It just is.

Cake Contest!!

Question:

Dear CAKE,

I think a similar question may have been posed before, but how do you continue to enjoy life in this age? Knowing people across the world want to kill you, and that every time you turn the key to your car you’re using a non-renewable resource that’s not only destroying the environment but slowly destroying civilization? I’m 18, what do I have to look forward to in the grand scheme of things? Do any of you have families? What do you think about having kids? This may sound kind of desperate, sorry. I don’t mean it to. I’m not really agonizing about it, but it’s in the back of my mind a lot.

Thanks,

Epic Movie #1??

What the hell happened to American Cinema!? What is it about spoofs that is so god damn popular? Would someone explain this to me… because failing that… there is really no reason for me to make movies in this climate. If it’s not completely unoriginal and insulting to other people’s work… its not funny… i don’t understand… I must be too old or something. Oh well.

Big freaking sigh!

I was checking out my Webalizer and I noticed on my list of “Top Referrers” this address http://undergroundmine.com/GothMP3s.htm. If you clicked on it you will see it a Goth themed link site with the first listing a mention of “Liberata Me“,? that movie I did for Pearry Teo, the now big time movie director/producer. I love the wording on the site… they called the video amazing. I think I can take that as a compliment.

But, as I browse around at what others in the Indie Film world are doing, I can’t help but think… maybe “Clever” isn’t the way to go.

What happened to Level?

It’s a Saturday night after a busy day of meetings and errands, Stuff for work, stuff for movies… etc. I met with Randy for breakfast and talked about the future of our film endevors. It was productive. I met with most of the cast for my new top secret project. I went to a benefit dinner for a Greek Archeological dig that my Godfather’s Father was heavily involved with before he passed away last month, which was very interesting. I went to Randy’s girlfriend’s birthday party, where I got to talk shop with Paul and Randy again, and play some classic TMNT arcade. Then I went to Level.

Now, when Level first opened last year, it was a really classy place. It was busy, but not packed. People respected each other, or at least that was my opinion. But I’ve noticed a decline in the quality of people that go there. You’d think that a place that required a dress code in the foothills would atract people who are comfortable with themselves, and can enjoy an evening out without becomimg barbaric savages like people do at most bars like Malloney’s.

Yeah… No…

That was a really nice post last week wasn’t it? Full of optimism and promise… reality, I’m afraid is nothing like that.

I dropped the Film Appreciation class… for several reasons. The bullshit reasons are that there was only 2 seniors who enrolled, and I was basing the class off of a curriculum being taught in New York that was 5 days a week and seniors only. Only having 2 days a week, and a bunch of freshmen in the class would have been difficult … especially since I have no idea how to be a teacher. But beyond that, I don’t think I know anything… or at least enough to be teaching other people. I like to watch movies and think about movies… but let’s be realistic here. I really don’t know shit. I’m kinda tired of people thinking that I know all this stuff about film just because I talk a lot of shit and I have some ideas.
